本科宗旨:
經濟及經公科，目標在協助學生了解香港社會經濟環境及國際事務，提高同學對時事的觸覺，培養他們的批判及思考能力；同時亦幫助他們養成關心社會經濟問題、積極參與社會事務的態度。
本科老師鼓勵學生參與改善社區的活動，以培養他們對社會的責任感。為達致上述的目的，本學會會定期舉辦多項活動，藉此提高同學對經濟及經公科的興趣。
為加強同學的參與，本科每年舉辦十大新聞選舉，務求提高同學對周圍環境及時事的認知及興趣，以培養學生成為見聞廣博及關心社會的公民。

我們亦為各級同學舉辦的理財及投資相關講座、參觀等活動，每次也能吸引不少同學參加。理財講座可讓同學明白如何管理金錢，對他們的成長發展有莫大的幫助。年宵活動更是本科活動的重點，由集資、購貨、營運均由同學參與其中，同學在籌劃及執行過程中獲益良多。
