One School, Two Social Workers

The primary responsibility of school social workers is to provide counselling to students in need and to organize activities conducive to their healthy development. With the implementation of “One School, Two Social Workers”, school social workers have more space and time to monitor students’ physical and mental health.

Faced with rapid physical and psychological changes, adolescents experience different levels of stress and anxiety as they attempt to discover themselves. Especially in the recent chaotic social climate, young people are more uncertain and disoriented than ever before about their future. As school social workers, we are not the “problem solvers” for our students; rather, we strive to be their “peers” and assist in their development. Growing up is replete with opportunities but inevitably involves suffering. However, how can one experience happiness without suffering? We want to assist students in recognizing and distinguishing positive and negative emotions through a variety of methods. When they are willing to accept and embrace the sweet, sour, and bitter emotions in their hearts with candour and courage, they will add resilience to their lives.

Ahead, we anticipate a challenging yet exciting school year with our students, and we look forward to witnessing their transformations.Ahead, we anticipate a challenging yet exciting school year with our students, and we look forward to witnessing their transformations.
